I don't have a scanner so haven't been able to upload any of my sketches yet, but here's a mock-up of an initital design in Photoshop. It's just a pretty simple Web 2.0 style design.I hope you don't mind if I slap a template on this blog, I think the green is a bit scary :)

These are my first few initial designs for the layout and colour schemes for the new Scuba Diving website. I've also created a mind-map to get some of my ideas down on paper before going about implementing any sort of initial design, either drawn or photoshopped.

Hey guys.
Phil emailed me earlier about what he wants on the site. Im seeing him tomorrow night anyways so can discuss whats what, but heres what he said anyway.
So we can start planning the designs around him.
Hi Gracie,
We need a site that is eye catching but sophisticated rather than garish. I like it if all information is only a click away and not too much scrolling down to find stuff and easy to navigate. It woud be nice if it was high up on google searches and quick and easy to get into.
I want the site to:
Our general selling point is tht we are the friendliest dive centre, with personal service.
I think thats about it. David woods has offered to help with this so I am ccing him in to give him an opportunity to add or change anything.

We need a site that is eye catching but sophisticated rather than garish. I like it if all information is only a click away and not too much scrolling down to find stuff and easy to navigate. It woud be nice if it was high up on google searches and quick and easy to get into.
I want the site to:
- Be easy for me (thicky)to edit.
- Give a high priority to advertising our trips etc,
- Give access to archived articles
- Have a photo/video gallery,
- Tell divers about us, about our school and about the club and our corporate work (Scuba for executive gyms, businesses, team building etc.
- We have discover scuba contracts with Center Parcs so I would like to welcome past participants to the site and tell them how they can continue diving.
- Buttons for E learning (Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Nitrox) These can be downloaded from the PADI site
- Descriptions of courses and perhaps a method for people to pay for courses etc on site.
- An easy to view diary to let folks know what's coming up
- Contact details - it has got to be easy from them to get hold of us.
- Our Turtle logo and perhaps a couple of logos for linked companies (eg PADI, Center Parcs) on home page
Our general selling point is tht we are the friendliest dive centre, with personal service.
I think thats about it. David woods has offered to help with this so I am ccing him in to give him an opportunity to add or change anything.
